Regardless of wherever you may be in terms of fitness and health, I welcome you with open arms to this here, my journey to a healthier lifestyle.
I have not always been health conscious. I grew up eating tons of junk-food, drinking soda almost every single day, exercising only during gym class, and justifying my unhealthy lifestyle with foolish thinking that went a little something like, “I’ll exercise and change my diet once I start to gain weight,” and, “Well, I have a fast metabolism so I don’t have to worry about gaining weight,” and my personal favorite, “If I’m skinny it means I’m healthy, so I’m all good.”
At another point, when I had access to a gym, I genuinely believed that if I exercised every single day, I could eat all the junk food I wanted because I’d burn it all off the next day when I returned to the gym anyway.
Now, don’t get me wrong- I’m not where I want to be yet in terms of health and body goals. I’m actually getting back on my feet after being absent from my regular workout routines for a couple months now. And yes, I’ve developed quite a few unhealthy habits already; don’t be surprised by how fast you can slip back into unhealthy patterns.
I’m a work in progress and I know I need to continue making the necessary changes for my health’s sake.
I hope you will find motivation, encouragement, and support as you read through my Fit stories. It is also my hope that my posts challenge you to take care of your body, mind, and soul. I cannot tell you what it is that you need specifically because I am not a health nor fitness professional, but I can tell you that if you invest in your health, you’ll benefit in the long run.
