I forgot when was the last time I posted for Thankful Thursday but here we are…
There’s a lot to be thankful for.
Here’s a couple of things I’m currently grateful for:
1. My anemia has been in check.
I discovered I was anemic back in 2016. While I tried my best taking care of myself, I ended up feeling overwhelmed and drained from trying to remember what to eat or take all at once.
Fast forward 2018, I’m not only at my ideal weight, I’m healthier now! I found a multivitamin that works for me & that carries the vitamins I need to feel alert and energized (I’ll do a separate post on that soon!).
2. My self-care is in check.
Just as I’ve been keeping my health in line, I’ve also been taking extra care of my physical beauty.
This one’s important because I’d believed that taking care of my skin, hair, nails, teeth, etc., was selfish. I took care of myself but I kept my routine to a minimum.
Now, I enjoy the nice baths. I take care of my skin, especially when I’m out in the sun. I drink plenty of water. I treat myself to guilty pleasures like chocolate and coffee, but still remind myself to balance it all with healthy foods. I purchase the tad bit expensive shampoo, conditioner, lotion, & body wash bottles because I enjoy pampering myself… and because my husband deserves to have me looking and feeling my best.
Which brings me to…
3. My hubby, my buddy
No marriage is perfect; any married couple can tell you this. There’s misunderstandings, arguments, annoyances, preferences… you name it.
But I’ve been enjoying my time with my husband. When we’re not playing PokemonGo, we’re traveling to Downtown L.A.’s Little Tokyo, or cooking dinner together, or reminding one another to take their vitamins.
We’re also learning to support and be there for one another when the going gets tough, whether it be in the area of spirituality/growth, finances, or anything career-related. It’s crazy, scary, and amazing to have someone who knows your secrets- the good, the bad, the ugly- and lives life so closely to yours.
While there are plenty of obstacles and challenges my spouse and I have yet to overcome, I’m grateful for the challenges we’ve gotten through by the grace of God.
You don’t have to have a perfect life to be grateful for something… ANYTHING.
My life has its issues. I have bad days. I’ve still got to deal with problems that have been around since two years ago.
However, I can say that taking the time to remember the little things, the answered prayers, and the accomplishments are rewarding in itself. It means there’s been change; it means not everything in my little world is dark. There’s still hope, and I don’t know about you but I desperately need hope every day.
What are you grateful for today?
