How are your September reads coming along? Remember how I said that I’d make a wishlist of reads I’d like to get through this month? Well, I’m extremely glad I called it a wishlist… *nervous laugh*
Apologies for the lack of weekly posts. Battling depression over the anniversary of your child’s passing is not an easy thing to brush off. It kinda gets in the way of my daily activities and I’ve had little to no desire to do anything… but
…Anyway, I got on my blog this morning and was happy to discover that I was tagged by the beautiful Canadian, tea loving, bibliophile- Jenna [bookmarkyourthoughts]- for the Disney Princess Sidekicks which was created by bookprincessreviews! Check out their lovely blogs!
This one looks like a lot of fun so here we go!
1. MUSHU FROM MULAN/OLAF + SVEN FROM FROZEN
THE COMIC RELIEF – NAME YOUR FAVORITE HILARIOUS CHARACTER OR YOUR FAVORITE COMEDY/FUNNY BOOK ::
I couldn’t think of any sidekick characters that made me laugh in a book… I think my brain farted and so my mind is kinda foggy.
2. THE SEVEN DWARVES FROM SNOW WHITE
FAVORITE GROUP/ENSEMBLE ::
Gimli, Legolas, and Aragorn [LORD OF THE RINGS]
Oh you thought I would pick Sam, Frodo, and Smeagol, huh! Wrong! Although I love the friendship that Frodo and Sam share, I thought Legolas and Gimil’s was the best mostly because they come from two different worlds, and while they initially start off as enemies, they set their differences aside to fight side by side with Aragorn, who I can’t get enough of.
3. PASCAL FROM TANGLED
THE LOYAL CHEERLEADER CHAMELEON (NOT A FROG, FLYNN RIDER). NAME A BOOK THAT STARTED OUT ONE WAY BUT CHANGED FOR YOU ::
This book was an emotional roller coaster from beginning to end. Part of what really made the turn of events so surprising for me was the fact that I read nothing (no spoilers, no reviews, not even a synopsis…) about the book before I picked it up to read.
4. MEEKO FROM POCAHONTAS
POCAHONTAS’S SLY AND SNEAKY RACCOON FRIEND – NAME A PLOT TWIST THAT YOU DID NOT SEE COMING ::
I love & hate this book for the emotional wreck it put me through. Chapter 17, pg. 1522 (on iBooks) is the mother of plot twists, in my opinion. I don’t know whether to sympathize with Briony or loathe her…
5. RAJAH FROM ALADDIN/FLOUNDER FROM THE LITTLE MERMAID
GENTLE WITH THEIR PRINCESS BUT PROTECTIVE WITH EVERYONE ELSE – NAME YOUR FAVORITE BEST FRIEND IN A NOVEL ::
I wouldn’t exactly say there’s ONE favorite best friend in this story… there are actually multiple people who I considered amazing friends, including the main character herself- Starr.
6. RAY FROM THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG / SEBASTIAN FROM THE LITTLE MERMAID / COGSWORTH, LUMIERE, MRS. POTTS, & CHIP FROM BEAUTY AND THE BEAST
THE MUSICAL BUNCH – NAME A NOVEL WHERE MUSIC PLAYED A BIG PART OR MADE YOU WANT TO SING ITS PRAISES ::
I don’t recall reading any books that contained music that made me want to sing its praises.
7. MAXIMUS FROM TANGLED
THE OBSTACLE IN FLYNN RIDER’S WAY – NAME A CHARACTER THAT FACES A LOT OF OBSTACLE ::
This book was HILARIOUS. The main character, a pirate called Hank, just has about the worst luck. There are plenty of laughable moments accompanied by plenty of pictures that depict what’s happening in the story. If you haven’t read it DO IT NAOWWW!
8. HAMISH, HUBERT, & HARRIS FROM BRAVE
FAVORITE FAMILY DYNAMICS IN A NOVEL ::
This book is a classic! Great plot, good number of interesting characters, and such a dysfunctional family dynamic.
9. LOUIS FROM THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG / 3 FAIRIES FROM SLEEPING BEAUTY
THE ADVICE GIVERS – BOOK THAT MOST IMPACTED YOUR LIFE ::
I read this book in high school and I’ve re-read it over the years. I cried and my heart ached. It’s sequel- The Lost Boy- is just as powerful. Def recommend that everyone read this book.
10. HEI HEI FROM MOANA
NAME A CHARACTER THAT STEALS THE SHOW ::
I think Annie really steals the “show” in all the Magic Tree House Books. She’s funny, quick-witted, can often be a little annoying, but extremely bright.
11. GUS & JAQ FROM CINDERELLA
OPPOSITES ATTRACT – NAME YOUR FAVORITE OR WORST OPPOSITE ATTRACTS PAIRING::
As difficult as it has been for me to finish reading this book (the literature is highly complex), I do love reading about the relationship between Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy. While he is a wealthy man and she would be described as a peasant, they’re both prideful. They are the best example of opposites being attracted to one another.
